Heiroglyphic
Barrel Aged Imperial Saison
Of the many inventions of the ancient Egyptians, the most significant is likely developing the first written language. Hieroglyphics, ‘the sacred engraved letters’, allowed life to be documented in a preliterate world. The walls of the Khonso Em Heb tomb were covered in wonderfully preserved depictions of his daily life as “Chief maker of beer for the gods of the dead”. Did he know that thousands of years later his legacy would still be preserved?
This beer pays respect to this great civilization. Hieroglyphic Imperial Saison was designed to leave a lasting impression. Upon completion, it was transferred to bourbon barrels to await its next life, like the Pharaohs entombed before him. The Belgian nose has hints of bubblegum that meld smoothly with the oak. The slightly sweet taste is quickly accompanied by charred wood and smoke. In this life or the afterlife, this beer will please. We think the gods would agree.
