Apis
Honey Bun Pastry Stout
Of the 20,000 known bee species, only 7 are Apis, the honey bee. A single bee will visit 20,000 flowers in 10 days flying 500 miles to produce a mere 1/12 teaspoon of honey in its life time. This is a celebration of this sweet nectar, and the 156,672 honey bee’s whose entire life was spent producing it solely for this sweet brew.
This stout has a thick, full and viscous body. Hundreds of Honey Buns were mashed and boiled, providing a creamy, pillowey backdrop. Massive amounts of Buckwheat and Wildflower honey were added to the whirl, melding the former’s chocolate woodieness with the later’s lingering rich, fruity notes. Meadowfoam honey was also added during fermentation, providing a nutty vanilla flavor reminiscent of marshmallow. The result is a symphony of sweetness that will leave your pallet buzzing.
